My first attempt at taking pictures of the Aurora Borealis. Since I live in a town of a fair size (25 000 people, which is fair for Norway), there’s quite a lot of light polution.
What is this “light polution” you might ask. Well, to put it simply, light polution is the effect you get when you have a light source infront of the object you want to see at night. Imagine putting a dome around your home town or city (like they did in The Simpsons Movie). This dome would block out most of the light from outside the dome.
If you’ve lived in a city or large town your whole life, and never been outside of it, you’ve never seen the true beauty of the night sky. What you see when you look up at night is only a fraction of the things you’ll see without the light polution. Nature is magic, guys, and we need to experience it.
